A.Gee - World Record Breaking DJ, DJ Skills Teacher, Radio
presenter & DMC UK Team Finalist. A.Gee has been putting his vinyl dexterity to good use since early 1994, by entertaining crowds at college and house parties to
masses who were relatively new to the art of DJing.
An up bringing of Jazz, Soul, Easy Listening and pop graduated to pretty much anything, Hip Hop, Funk, R&B, Disco, Drum and Bass, Breaks,Dub Step, Electro and House.
All of which have been influential and play a big part in his sets.
His ideology behind his sets isn't all mix n blends. Turntabilist tricks, spin backs, beat chops, scratches and fades are all integral parts.
With a music catalogue that's worthy of a record store's at hand his knowledge of not just music artists but structure to sound help him build sets or bring
atmospheric fusion to someone else's.
A.Gee is a strong contender in team work as well. The summer of 2003 saw him with fellow team member, DJ Komplete reach 4th place in that years DMC UK Team
finals.
A Hip Hop head at heart, Agee is a strong contender in the Urban music world and the world of Electronica, Funk, Disco, Dub Step, Drum and Bass, Soul and Jazz.
His sets are always new exciting and contain elements of surprise. An all out Hip Hop set, a Funk set, Soul, Dub Step, Electro House or DnB, which ever you get the
chance to see you will not be disappointed. Anything he puts his name to he always puts 100 percent!!
Using his broad knowledge in music he has worked in 2 acclaimed independent record shops in Essex, Time Records + Sound Proof Records. Late 2005 saw A.Gee start up his
own Internet record shop; WWW.RAPSHACK.CO.UK using past experience + contacts. Rapshack.co.uk won an award in the summer of 2006 from The Prince's Trust from whom he
won a small business loan from to build his business, this award was for Enterprising and the best business in Essex, it beat many other competitors. The site is now
ranked as number 1 on both Google* and Yahoo!** (correct at time of print, 11/2011)
Along side his DJing and running an award winning web site he has been a part time teacher at Colchester Institute since January 2006 teaching DJing skills and music
business and web site promotion using online network sites to First Diploma and National Diploma levels. The first of it's kind at the college seeing that his students
pass with Merits and Distinctions. Many of his former students have gone off to DJ all over the country and have signed record deals. A.Gee is CRB checked and a
member of IFL (Institute For Learning).
Early 2010 saw A.Gee being introduced to the Subbass DJ Academy in London where his teaching skills are once again teaching the next generation of DJs in London for
the specialised Urban DJ courses.
Take a look at some of his previous work and you will see that he has played along side some of the World's acclaimed artists in the Urban music industry.
A.Gee was one of the DJs whom beat the DJ relay World record with BBC 1xtra in summer of 2010 along with DJ and producer legends such as, Mark Ronson, Trevor Nelson,
Benji B, MJ Cole, Mark Rae, Wooki and the Rampage crew.
